Dutch Book Launch – An Evening of Connection and Celebration

On October 2nd, 2024, nearly a hundred friends, family, colleagues, nature lovers, and city dwellers gathered at Pakhuis de Zwijger to celebrate DE NATUUR VAN ONZE STEDEN. Moderated by the talented Milouska Meulens, it was a truly special evening that highlighted the immense interest in urban nature—and the people working to map, protect, and restore it.

The event wasn’t just a celebration of my work as the author but also a tribute to the incredible translators—Nico Groen, Astrid Meijn, and Hugo van der Wolf—who brought the Dutch edition to life with such care and expertise.

I shared stories of urban pioneers and Internet of Nature thinkers who are using technology to reconnect cities with nature. From tree-saving sensors to community-driven green initiatives, the pages of this book highlight how we can transform our cities into healthier, more resilient places.

I’m so grateful to Uitgeverij Lannoo, Rico Disco, and the Pakhuis de Zwijger team for making this launch a reality, and to everyone who joined us—both in person and online—for celebrating the power of urban nature.
